Blind following of misguidance - Part 7

Cultish behaviour, amongst Muslims, has become far more pronounced than ever before. This forum is not the place to make takfeer (pronouncing someone to have left the faith of Islam) of anyone and no one should rush to do so anyway. However, the ongoing calling to the correct path is necessary.

The details of proper belief must be learnt from credible teachers. Titles may have value, but it is not enough. Again, when learning about the transmission of knowledge, you will find that character was one such factor that was highlighted as a key part of etiquette. This is a subject in itself. But how will those who are ignorant know this when they incline not to true knowledge? Prophet Muhammad taught mainly matters of aqeedah in the first thirteen years of his prophethood. Today, some people get into others subjects without having gained sufficient knowledge of aqeedah. The flip side of it is that those who are effectively the cult leaders, love the attention they get while some of them know the truth. This group of people will surely get more rope in the trespass. The call, in any way, to attach any attribute, which is solely Allah’s, to any of His creation is blasphemous. This is the true understanding of blasphemy. To call out anyone, specifically those who have public platforms, for their incorrect belief is important to safeguard the eemaan of many.  Slander is when you speak a lie against someone while they are, of course, not guilty of it. No preacher can claim innocence to his flock, as in a disclaimer, if he makes statements in public. You speak the truth and must stand by your statement. If, however, you made a mistake, you correct it and not leave it to the laymen. And if, another scholar corrects you, you accept and move forward with humility. Arrogance is unbecoming of anyone, let alone the one claiming to be a scholar.

Those who are in a cult do not actually realise they are in a cult. This is much like a drug addict will not initially realise that they are addicted. The truth is not like that because it allows your to differentiate between good and bad while you are in a lucid state.

Blind following of misguidance - Part 6

The predominant reason for people falling into misguidance is their lack of grounding in aqeedah (belief). When a scholar makes a mistake, then because you understand that they are not infallible, you don’t have to necessarily hold them accountable. I use the word “necessarily” only as a qualification that not all mistakes can be overlooked without it being important to correct it.

Great scholars of the past have made mistakes, but when it comes to mistakes of belief then you have to be a little wary. More so when someone repeats those type of mistakes. When mistakes in aqeedah are not questioned, and you carry on as normal, then this is when you can call such a group a cult. A cult: a system of religious veneration and devotion directed towards a particular figure or object. So, therein lies a danger for those not well grounded in belief.

Every scholar has its limits in knowledge to the extent that grand imams like Imam Malik bin Anas who often would answer “I do not know” to questions even though he had such a high stature. Actually, it is through his knowledge and his accompanied diligence and humility that he gained that rank. Today, everyone has answers for everything, and their knowledge is less than a drop in the ocean of true scholars. The view of the great imams was always that if I say something which is not in conformity with an authentic hadith, then my understanding is null and void and you must take the authentic hadith. Another point that is important is how, from a knowledge (transmission) point of view, we arrived here. This is an important point because, in short, there is a chain (of transmitters, narrators, teachers) that preserved knowledge for us. Any scholar, worth his salt, will know this and not belittle this. Such a person is lacking. Yet, it is cultish behaviour to not be teachable on the truth but hang onto every dear word of your sheikh.

The primary sources of information are Quran and Sunnah. These cannot be disputed except by the ignorant who lack understanding and have issues in belief. The influence of orientalists has caused some to question or belittle hadith. However, this is in itself a core aqeedah issue which can be decisive whether or not you are within the fold of Islam.

Blind following of Misguidance – Part 2

Blind following of Misguidance – Part 2

The scholarly and schoolboy approach can never be the same. The one has knowledge while the other is deluded, excited with the drop of knowledge.  For the latter, this becomes the reality. These types of people, even sometimes when they do carry some knowledge, gain followers like the Ahmadis and Qadianis. It is not impossible that these people build a following on lies and misguidance.

No matter whether the field is medicine, education or eschatology, etc, it can never trump aqeedah (belief). Belief is the most important aspect to have proper eemaan (faith). I say “proper”, but effectively if eemaan is defective, it may in fact, at times, be classified as disbelief. So, if you don’t apply yourself to understanding or accepting any or much of other fields of study, but only in as much as is needed for your aqeedah, then that will suffice. As for delving into these matters and creating the impression that that is aqeedah, then that is misguidance. Examples of how they place preference on their opinions on eschatology is that they believe that Gog and Magog have escaped and are amongst people already. Reading through the ahadith pertaining to this, the literal understanding is simple. This literal understanding is the view of every credible scholar that Gog and Magog will only appear after the time of Ad-dajjal (antichrist). Now this, the minute detail, is not a point of aqeedah but knowledge that it is real must be accepted because it is authentically reported in the hadith of Prophet Muhammad . Moreso, to create an opinion other than that of the entire scholarship and ummah is pushing the limits, to put it mildly. Of the arguments that these misguided people use to justify the release and presence, as it were, of Gog and Magog in our midst, is that the whole world has been discovered. So how can Gog and Magog still be hidden. This is an aqeedah issue because it is questioning whether Allah has the ability to hide any part  the world from prying eyes. This can be shown when these people have not looked at some archaeological findings in the recent years. These finding effectively show places undiscovered for thousands of years. Then also, in the recent past, the disappearance of flight MH371. Sure, there will be theories on the latter, but what about the archaeological findings. Indeed, a case of these people trying to force justification of their viewpoint when eschatology in Islam cannot clash with Aqeedah, except that you will be in error. The ghaib, the unseen, is the domain of Allah. He did not give us more detail than what has been authentically reported. Thus, any interpretation is subject to mere opinion which can be strutinised and rejected. On the matter of Gog and Magog, then the overwhelming view is that Gog and Magog must still appear.

After centuries of scholarship, one man decides that these people were and are all wrong. This brings us to the point of understanding how knowledge has been passed on from generation to generation, but we will leave that for some later date.  You head into dangerous territory when you then also just reinterpreting Quran on this basis. Know that no subject is important enough to endanger your eemaan.

Hadith

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah () said:

"Gog and Magog people dig every day until, when they can almost see the rays of the sun, the one in charge of them says: "Go back and we will dig it tomorrow." Then Allah puts it back, stronger than it was before. (This will continue) until, when their time has come, and Allah wants to send them against the people, they will dig until they can almost see the rays of the sun, then the one who is in charge of them will say: "Go back, and we will dig it tomorrow if Allah wills.' So they will say: "If Allah wills." Then they will come back to it and it will be as they left it. So they will dig and will come out to the people, and they will drink all the water. The people will fortify themselves against them in their fortresses. They will shoot their arrows towards the sky and they will come back with blood on them, and they will say: "We have defeated the people of earth and dominated the people of heaven." Then Allah will send a worm in the napes of their necks and will kill them thereby.'" The Messenger of Allah () said: "By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, the beasts of the earth will grow fat on their flesh."

The Plot Thickens

It was an assassination. If it was, then there must be motive. Were the perpetrators from within the country or from a hostile country? How did they do it?

The good thing about understanding eschatology (referring to Jewish, Christian, and Muslim beliefs about the end of history) is that man’s stupidity is exposed. In truth, their lack of faith and God-consciousness is exposed. Eschatology per the three religions mentioned, differ, largely because the ultimate belief systems differ. It is mindboggling that decent God-fearing people will be intent on destroying life on earth as well at the earth itself. Thus, it is fairly apparent that Satan’s prints are all over much of current life on earth. His minions have taken control of most of the world and is systematically going through the motions of destroying it. You have fallen for the hoax of global warming and “excessive” carbon emissions while nothing of the sort is actually happening. There are carbon emissions, but plant life needs carbon dioxide. Of course, pollution is a problem with much of it stemming from the use of artificial products such as plastics. While you often talk about alternatives as the second-best thing, biodegradable packaging, as an example, should be the primary option and everything else alternatives. Food and medicines are primarily no longer organic while organic is seen as the alternative. Should not Allah’s way be the primary way and not to deviate from it except in extreme circumstances? Am I digressing from the assassination plot? Yeah. The world is hell-bent on self-destruction. Notice the same players. Good will always fight evil but evil, naively, thinks it can win. Rather, the minions of Satan thinks they can win while Satan is well aware of the truth and the consequences. Since the latest round of genocide, somehow it appears that Iran is being provoked to enter into a war. It may well be that Iran is party to this plan which ultimately is to get the middle east into a war. Did Iran not play along or was the ex-President too willing to play along? The answer to this may indicate who the possible assassins are, if indeed you think it may well be an assassination.

Iran has a place in eschatology. Eschatology is such a subject that at some point you will know how close the world is to its end. For now, it is mere speculation. The end seems near, but it can be really very far off. The messiah is a sign except it means different things for Jews, Muslims and Christians. One question to ponder is whether the real Jews, the semitic Jews have fallen for the deception of the Ashkenazi Jews? Wait, what? What’s the difference? – Another time if you need more information. Ultimately, the Jews and Christians will believe in Yeshu (Eesa/Jesus) – peace be upon him, before the world ends.
