The Condition of the Ummah - Part 4

Becoming a People of Trust

“Why would you do that?”
It’s a question we often ask when someone has betrayed our confidence. Imagine renting a home, agreeing to pay each month, then simply choosing not to. Immediately, tension fills the air. The bond between landlord and tenant is broken. The same happens when we take what isn’t ours or when we exploit someone’s kindness. These breaches of trust are like a slow-growing cancer—quietly spreading, weakening families, communities, and eventually entire nations.

Trust, or amanah, is not only a religious concept; it is the foundation of every relationship. Take the most intimate relationship—marriage. Without trust, there is suspicion. And when suspicion grows, love struggles to survive. A marriage without trust is like a body without a heartbeat. Extend that idea to friendships, workplaces, institutions, and nations. When trust collapses, everything around it follows.

Our Ummah is no different. When trust erodes among us, unity fades and fragmentation sets in. Today we see mistrust at almost every level—between individuals, between communities, and even between rulers and the people they govern. We witness leaders who fail in their duty to protect and uphold justice. We see agreements made then violated, promises broken, and lives shattered as a result. In Gaza, ceasefires are signed in ink but not in action. Can the Palestinians trust that the mediators and signatories to the agreement will enforce the ceasefire for all parties??

But before we point fingers outward, we must look inward. The condition of the Ummah is a reflection of our personal condition. If our homes are filled with broken promises, if our businesses cut corners, if our hearts lack honesty—how can we expect Allah to grant us strength on the world stage? Culture begins at home. If betrayal becomes normal in our daily lives, it eventually becomes normal in society.

So, where do we begin? By fulfilling our amanah. Pay what you owe. Keep your word. Honour the agreements you make, even if no one is watching. Build habits of sincerity and integrity. These small acts of trustworthiness become seeds for greater change.

There is hope. Allah’s mercy is vast, and He elevates those who strive toward goodness. Islam will prevail—as Allah has promised. The only question is: will we be among those honoured to carry that banner, or will we watch from the sidelines?

Choose to be a person of trust. Strengthen your home, your relationships, your community. When we rebuild trust at the micro level, unity naturally grows at the macro level. This is one way how we revive the Ummah— being trustworthy first.

The Help of Allah is near - Part 8

The Nearness of Allah and the State of the Ummah

The revelation of the Qur’an and the Prophethood of our beloved leader, Muhammad , marks the completion of Allah’s favour upon us. There will be no new message, no fresh revelation. Whatever answers we seek already lie in what has been revealed. The key is our nearness to Allah — for true understanding of the deen comes only to those who draw close to Him. If our current condition is any indication, it shows just how far we’ve drifted from that nearness.

Today, Islam and Muslims are blamed for much of what happens in the world. We are made scapegoats through propaganda and the dumbing down of the masses. Yet, amidst all the noise, there remains a glimmer of hope — ordinary people around the world have shown humanity in their response to the genocide in Gaza. Not necessarily the leaders, but the people. It’s a sign that truth still finds its way to hearts.

Now, as the world turns its eyes to the so-called “peace proposals” for Gaza, we pray that the Palestinians are not capitulating, but preparing for their victory parade. But what about the rest of the Muslims? Where do we stand? The truth is painful — many of us are in a state of heedlessness. While Allah has perfected our religion, our failure to live by the Qur’an and Sunnah reflects our ingratitude for His guidance.

Allah reminds us in the Qur’an:

“When will the help of Allah come? Indeed, the help of Allah is near.” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:214)

This verse speaks to the test of the believers. The help of Allah is near — but it is not given freely. It is tied to faith, patience, and a heart set on paradise. And that is where we have faltered. Too many of us live as if paradise is a distant dream, not our ultimate goal. The love of this world has overtaken our hearts, and our children are being raised in that same distraction.

Do we even understand this heedlessness? The occupiers of Palestine struggled to contain the Sumud Flotilla — imagine if we had doubled that number of boats! Yet our energy is spent chasing comfort and recognition, not striving for Allah’s pleasure. To enter paradise, we must love Allah, and for Allah to love us, we must follow the example of Prophet Muhammad . The only way to do that is to seek — to ask at every turn: What does the Qur’an and Sunnah say about this?

The Palestinian struggle is not only about land; it reflects our own spiritual struggle. It shows how far we have turned away from the guidance of Allah. Still, there remain those who hold firmly to the rope of Allah — who seek His love, and through that, entry into paradise.

It is now our turn. Each of us must set our goal and return to Allah. Victory will surely come to the believers. The only question is: will we be part of that victory parade, or will we still be busy hustling for our share of this fleeting world?

The help of Allah is near - Part 1

70 thousand Palestinians trapped in northern Gaza face starvation, extermination in one of the largest genocidal campaigns in modern history

The is much to talk about that there seems to be too little time for that. You cannot drop your guard and, least of all, your God. Yet, everything is related to the Middle East, Palestine to be exact. When satan was ordered to bow down to Adam (peace be upon him), he refused. Was or is he above the law? Nay, he has been given respite.

The primary aim of the United Nations is to maintain international peace and security. Yet here we are in 2025, and one of its members in the Middle East, Israel, has failed to subject themselves to UN Resolutions against them. While the UN is toothless because its setup is less than ideal, there is a God. Some of these players may not believe in God, but He is true, and he has given them respite, much like He has given satan respite. The victims are rewarded with paradise, but the perpetrators, they have given more rope in their trespass.  The voices of the oppressed, the voices of the people of Palestine, the voices of the people of Gaza must be heard. It should ring in your ears so that you may act for justice. The UN won’t act. As always, Allah is the one to whom we supplicate.

Imagine standing in line for food, starving, then not only do you stare death in the face from starvation, but too from the killing machinery of those who claim to provide aid to you. There is no food. There are no medical supplies. There are no hospitals. The Israelis have questioned the humanity of Iran for bombing a hospital in Tel Aviv. Absurd is too mild a word for one making that statement while destroying over thirty hospitals in Gaza. We feel helpless in our efforts to support the people of Gaza. Our humanitarian aid is not reaching them. The least we can do is speak out against the injustice and the oppression they are facing.

The call to boycott certain products loses some effect when our business-people still look to make profits off products from entities supporting the occupiers. At the end of the day, even if you stand alone, you must stand for justice. There are so many examples of how we should keep calling to good, that is what we must do. Calling to good, in this case, necessitates pointing out the gen- o – ci dal behaviour of the Zionists.

No Muslim can ever be antisemitic because Quran is a semitic language. Those who call you an antisemite for standing with the oppressed people of Palestine, is blatantly lying and it is slander. There are Christian Palestinians too and they are not spared any different to the Muslim. We are all in it together. How many messages like this have you read and closed without sharing? We all need to do more. One click is the easiest action. Let’s make a difference.

What about the ceasefire - we take a look at that soon!

March to the Holy Land - Part 8

 Arrogance is the mistake

Knowledge is taken away from the ummah by the passing of the scholars. The masses have been further dumbed down by their education and their inclination to the tools of satan. The debate here will not be about technology itself but by its application. Added to this is the weakness of belief of Muslims. It is all interrelated. Thus, it is for you to understand that this conflict between Iran and Israel has little, if any impact on Muslims, as a whole, and Islam. Except, of course, as mentioned, if a spark from a downed missile lands in Muslims lands. Therein lies the danger for everybody.

It may be that it should not be seen as a danger for Muslims, but as a blessing. Your faith will speak much to it. Regime change in Iran, or not, has little immediate meaning for us. The greater plan of the Zionists is set to come into play. Many believe the Zionists are arrogant enough to allow the war to spill over to include the entire Middle East. This may be the case, since they are/were preparing for the antichrist, the false messiah. In understanding the ahadith on end times, the signs of the hour, then the malhama happens before then, i.e. the coming of ad-Dajjal. His advent is the start of a most difficult period. Is this, his appearance, the reason for the Zionist arrogance? Time will tell. However, irrespective of the imminent coming of ad-Dajjal or not, their arrogance cannot be disputed.

The need for humanitarian aid into Gaza is of absolute great importance. The march to Rafah to highlight this point is necessary. Obstacles and blockades are placed even in the way of this peaceful protest from people who embarked on it from all over the world. It is naïve to think that this momentum will die down. And if it does not die down, but escalates, then the least of the casualties will be the leaders and rulers of these lands. One, therefore, hopes for a peaceful and humanitarian solution. Anything short of that, will have unnecessary consequences. I am not keen to live at the time of Ad-Dajjal, and perhaps I won’t, but the current situation seems dire. Perhaps, Allah will bring about a solution in the apparent quiet of the night with the prayer of the oppressed being key. You are reminded of your focus.

Israel will not be able to fire all these missiles and drop all these bombs were it not for America and its allies who, for the least part, are the suppliers. Thus, consider that any war will be protracted as long as Iran have not capitulated. There is little reason to rejoice either way. Quds must be liberated. But who will? If ever there is a bomb to be dropped, it is this one: The Shi’a have no interest in Masjid-ul-Aqsa and do not consider it sacred. The march to the Holy lands will happen. The question is whether it will be led by the Mahdi or will Muslims be strong enough to do so before then. Allah knows the timeline best. Our efforts are to strive by planting seeds that will sprout, starting with our families. Educate yourself for His sake. Ready yourself.

March to the Holy Land - Part 7

End Goal

The march to the Holy Lands is something that will happen. The convoy and march to Rafah is not the ultimate march. Jerusalem and Aqsa will be liberated as Sayyidina Umar (Allah be pleased with him) and a second time under the leadership of Sultan Salahuddin. However, the distraction currently is the confrontation between Israel and Iran. At this moment in time, the peaceful humanitarian minded march is being impeded in Egypt. There is tension. No one can afford a mistake, least of all the tyrants and their lackeys.

One mistake is a spark from this “conflict” between Israel and Iran landing in between these two countries. Flames will erupt from this spark. The truth of it all is somewhere in the middle. The question for you is “what is your focus?” and is it the right focus. The strikes on Gaza continue unabated claiming multiple lives with each hit. Jordan, that minute little kingdom, which is like a province of Israel, is apparently intercepting the Iranian missiles intended for Israel. Jordan can, of course, protect its airspace. The focus! Is it that Israel banned all worshippers from Aqsa and were prevented from attending the Jumu’ah (Friday congregational prayer)? Will Gaza disappear while a “war” is waged on the grounds or Iran’s nuclear capability? Is the USA and Donald Trump not the main protagonist of discussions and deals with Iran? Yeah, each line has a different emphasis as if it is to confuse you.

The task at hand is huge and tough. Focus is required. The end goal understood. Reflect on your contribution. And if you understand the end goal and what the focus ought to be, perhaps you will be firm in your contribution. A simple example is that a small sacrifice is to boycott a famous beverage. Of course, it may not be possible to boycott everything, but surely you can do luxuries. Some have spent money traveling to Egypt to march towards Rafah. That is a sacrifice. How do you not know about it? Is the sad reality that you have not partaken in a chat group or some other type of grouping where real issues are discussed? At least important issues can be highlighted. It appears that there is a serious amount of work to be done to educate people. However, to educate people, there should also be the willingness to be educated. Aqsa has been closed. Is Aqsa under threat during the Israel-Iran conflict?

The real end goal is to meet Allah with a contented heart. On the way to do that, it must be to implement Allah’s laws – to invite to good and to prevent evil. You must stand for justice and oppose oppression. Ask the right questions from the right people, understand the end goal and play a meaningful role in achieving this. It is good versus evil. On which side are you? Can you be focused and not be distracted by side-shows.

March to the Holy Land - Part 2

Flotilla

The dire Palestinian situation has much to analyse. The solution is simple but implementing the solution has many obstacles. Organs of the United Nations and others have declared the situation a genocide. The most important issue right now, is saving lives. Aid in the form of food, water and medicinal supplies are crucial. Not nearly enough is done, and when it is done, the Palestinians get killed at that moment in time too. Along comes the flotilla.

As with all things, there are well-meaning people whose humanitarian hearts are in the right place, i.e. they do not see it as merely a religious war, but as a humanitarian catastrophe. However, there are also opportunity for “controlled opposition” to join the ranks and join the flotilla. Nothing is as it seems because those bent on deception, being well-schooled in deception, infiltrate those doing good. Taking a stand, while it is not popular, is impactful. Of course, it needs to be for good, for justice. And the flotilla is for a good cause. The current refrain is that “if they can do it while being non-Muslim, where are the Muslim rulers?”. That is a fair question. The answer is obvious and while it is obvious, there is a need for further analysis. At the same time there is a march across North Africa to Rafah. How this will pan out, will soon be known. However, the idea is good and this, from its impact, can be more meaningful. Good versus Evil can only have one winner. It is a matter of timing. In April 2024, the idea of a march onto the Holy Land was already raised. Palestine will be free.

The Balfour declaration, in 1917, decided that Palestine must become the homeland for the Jews. More than a century later, the displacement of the original people, the Palestinians, continues unabated. It is the land of the Palestinians, and it always has been. No doubt, they have every right to resist. However, the latest attempts to annihilate them have likely been more brutal than every before, In fact, even military experts cannot believe that they are able to resist after the large-scale bombs being dropped on them. What will be the outcome? Good will overpower evil. The question is “when?”. We will need to unpack this too. For now, know that there are both Muslim and Christian Palestinians. The solution must include all victims. There may be victims among Jews too. Before the Balfour declaration, Palestine was a land where Muslims, Christians and Jews live peacefully, side-by-side. Then Palestine was under Muslim rule.

We welcome the flotilla and those who strive for a good cause. We never over praise, nor get carried away by euphoria and influencers (in their many guises). Calm down, there is yet a job to be done. No, this keyboard warrior was not near the flotilla or the North African march. Each has a role to play. The question rebounds and it is about your role. You are looking at the Arab nations and their state of inertia. The one action you do is lifting a pointing finger at them. Their condition did not start now. A most heartfelt advice from our beloved Prophet Muhammad is: “Even if the Resurrection were established upon one of you while he has in his hand a sapling, let him plant it.” Musnad Aḥmad 12902

You ought to strive to the end, for Allah’s sake. So, even when things look like it is over and there is nothing you can do, plant that seed in your hand. In our situation, invite others to good and keep looking for solutions in which you can play a role. The least of it is prayer and an excellent time for prayer is in the middle of the night.

The Line in the Sand - Part 11 - The Task Ahead

The Task Ahead

Deviation is anything which is contrary to Islam and the Shari’ah. On the one hand, we have invited you to look at the evolution of Islamic legislation and to learn about methodologies and groups that have deviated. Does this deviation refer to following the ways of the Christian and Jews to the extent of following them into a lizard’s hole. What about the other sins which are committed because generally Muslims have started to follow their way of life in everything?

Using the word “bid’ah” scares many people while others go into panic mode, resulting in them mocking those who point out their innovations. Few take note and correct themselves. The detail of what classifies as innovation is for you to sincerely research through credible scholars. While these innovations may be apparent, it depends which group’s stamp of approval or disapproval you take. There really is not a choice, but that will be obvious for those who fear Allah, seek His love and that love is through the following of Prophet Muhammad . As for those who follow the customs and traits of the non-believers, then some acts will be sinful (even to the extent of disbelief), while others are mere customs which does not clash with the Shari’ah. The simple acts of disbelief, which no sane Muslim scholar will deny, is fortune-telling which includes horoscopes. Other sins can become disbelief if you contradict what the main sources of the Shari’ah says. What is a grave worshipper? Is this something that Allah may question you about concerning yourself? Using the word grave-worshipper or idolator does result in the same thing – Mushrik. The pagan Arabs used to say that they use the idols only as their intermediaries to Allah. Is it acceptable to engage in acts and manners of worship that Prophet Muhammad did not teach us? What did he say concerning this?

This was never intended to be a deep dive but merely scratching the surface in embarking on understanding “the line in the sand”. The solutions to the world’s problems starts with you. You need to be ready and equipped. It starts with you ready to face Allah and give a beautiful account of your devoted life in His service. That is what that line in the sand represent. The straight line is the line to follow. Any deviation has at the head of it a satan calling to disobedience and disbelief. Then, we look at the world with new vigour but with understanding and wisdom. There will always be a group of people, believers, however small in number, that will call to the truth. At this point, you will know to differentiate between opinion and correct beliefs.

Muslims have a huge task ahead. The implementation of justice and fighting oppression are key. Are we ready or do we need transformation to be that dynamic ummah Allah wants us to be. Will we be at the forefront of calling and establishing the good and preventing the evil? Prophet Muhammad drew the line in the sand more than 1400 years ago. The straight line is the path he taught us while those lines that deviate off the straight path has a satan at the head of it.

We pray for guidance and protection.

The line in the sand: Part 9

Caliphate

The caliphate is necessary and important for Muslims. Others will argue against it, saying that such talk is emotional and without basis. I will not spend time on that point directly but address the issue from the viewpoint that the nation is leaderless.

The first point to consider is that Islam does not confine itself to man-made geographical borders. We consider ourselves one nation under the banner of “Laa ilaaha ilallah MuhammadurRasoolullah” (There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, Muhammad is His messenger). A nation ought to have a leader, and it did for thirteen hundred years. You may argue that, for the most part, they were not righteous and there was corruption. However, does the contrast of “independent” states with its own rulers suggest that righteousness is the order of the day and that no leader is corruptible? There is that one little need to reflect on the demise of the caliphate. In order to do that, you will need to open the history books and consider the landscape, especially the period leading up to that fateful declaration that “the Caliphate is no more”. World War 1 had just finished. The colonies of the Europeans were ill at ease. Yes, that word “colon-ies” had to crop up. Colonies are places that were colonised? And what is colonisation? Something rather distasteful and the mildest form of it is called subjugation. And had you analysed that word, every one of its meanings should bring forth such disgust that you rather would wish to believe that humans cannot do that to other humans. Here we are, at the next phase of colonisation where there is apparent independence and sovereignty given to countries on a new map. The history of the last century.

In a previous post, we alluded to end times, meaning the end of the world. On a global scale it certain seems to be heading that way fast. But we always reflect on ourselves, the individual, the family, the community, until we get to the global situation. The line in the sand indicates that there in one straight line, then there are so many other lines along which many people will deviate. Of course, the immediate focus is on the serious matter that of the Muslims are those who may deviate. In a narration of Prophet Muhammad , he refers to Muslims following the ways of the non-Muslim, specifically the Jew and Christian, that even were they to crawl into a lizard hole, then some will follow them into it. In one way, you could argue that Muslims, to a degree, lost part of their global identity at the fall of the caliphate. However which way you want to see it, it is still up to you to stay on the straight line in the sand. Ultimately, those who remain on this straight line will soon rejoice at the reinstatement of the Caliphate. Yes, those who remain of the straight line or return to it. The task ahead is heavy because in an ever more deceptive world, you have to hold onto your faith. People ask, “how do I know I am on the right path?”. Delightful question. Perhaps there will be one more concluding part to this series, but for starters, maybe you can reflect on what was stated so far. Of course, you must stay on the straight path, that is your main goal and to do that, you must be informed. This whole series begged of you to learn and be informed.

The re-establishment of the Caliphate is directly linked to Palestine, Quds. Quds is indeed a sacred place. Reflecting on this point does indicate that Muslims must incline to having a caliphate. Now, much of the world is colonised. What about being mentally and intellectually colonised? Can those who are colonised in this manner be on the straight line in the sand?

Blow the Trumpet - Part 5

Things are not always what the seem. Although for the most part, you can only act on what is apparent, know the deception is ever growing.

Trade wars! Tariff hikes to make America great. Only, that it will have such a devastating impact that nothing can trump a knock-out blow like that. Is that the story or the diversion? Is it really purely economic? In truth, with greed being the order of the day, economics certainly have a role to play. Will Europe tumble before they engage in a suicidal war with Russia? Or is this really the diversion to cause more mayhem in the Middle East, Palestine being the focal point. The rate of diversions and distractions is more mind boggling than a game of Tetris. This game is not all that stimulating apparently and there are simpler games to stimulate the brain. Perhaps, the lack of engagement might be a reason for many being clueless. Of course, Muslims are exhorted to reflect deeply on the signs of Allah in Quran that the heart may find rest or rather, contentment. Being unmindful and oblivious are certainly not traits for which anyone would sign up. The single biggest step for Muslims is to free Masjid-ul-Aqsa. If you study history, then you will know that in 1187CE, Salahuddin conquered Jerusalem. Trace his path to it and there will be important clues. Muslims lands have been colonised and there is no modern day Salahuddin leading the charge. That does not cause Muslim to lose hope and be in despair. Focus. The tariff war is a diversion or stepping stone to something bigger. There is controlled opposition on every front, even those that may be so open and are considered as leaders. No, don’t fall for being suspicious of everyone, but be wary, for if any leader strays, he is replaceable. The main task is to be informed, to learn to join the dots and to be vigilant.

On a side note (which really needs to be an important topic on its own), is to re-look at your engagement with the financial markets, starting with banks. Learn ways to protect yourself from a global financial meltdown and/or for you to lose your freedom. Joining the dots might give you the clue. The main point to realise is that man was created to manage the affairs of this world as representatives of Allah. And who can be a representative of Allah and who is disqualified? Therein lies your answer on how to tread the way ahead.

It is not about MAGA for indeed the answer to that is that you will be on the winning team when you know and submit that Allah is the Greatest. Don’t be distracted but focus on your role as defined by Allah. The starting point, in the weak state that we are, is to make dua, to boycott those who fund atrocities and to learn to join the dots.

The March to the Holy Land

The Time Has Come

Sometimes I wonder what our situation would have been like had we lived in the time of Prophet Muhammad or even Yeshu or Moshe (peace be upon them both). Today, many have the full truth of their, the Prophets’, teaching but opt to dilute it or reject it outright. There is a need to understand the reality in the sight of Allah versus the deception of this world while the latter is painted and presented as reality.

You have been sucked in by the system. Consequently, you struggle to join the dots, if you are even trying at all. You are looking for solutions through and within the system while the reality is that which is in the Deen (religion) of Allah, Islam. This modern-day system has been long in the making from the time Satan became the accursed. Over time, he had many minions and today it seems likely that the world is ready for self-destruction. A genocide is taking place and, like the viewing of a movie or a sports event with worldwide audiences, there is no concrete reaction to it. The organs and institutions set up for world peace and the protection of people was set up by the very same people who created a new country with new people in a land where people have always lived and was living at that time. A country was formed on the displacement of a people. That not being enough, a genocide is taking place before our very eyes. Have you exerted enough of yourself to say that you are fully supportive of the people of Palestine? Unless you start to think differently from the indoctrination (that so-called education) from your schooling, your exposure to movies and television, even reading of books, to the politics (including the political system), to the laws governing us, to the economic system, and much more, then you are still using their system to find solutions to play a meaningful role. Even religion has been changed that few know the pristine religion of Islam while they defend every innovation into the religion and spend little time to emulate Prophet Muhammad and his companions (Allah be pleased with them).

You cannot abdicate responsibility. You cannot find ultimate solutions within the system. The democratic system will seemingly give you wins in some areas but, overall, it carries more harm than good, if any good really. There are people dying. The world is in chaos. Muslims ought to command with good and forbid evil and it requires action. Allah will not change the condition of a people unless and until they change themselves. A caliphate awaits and it will not be based on democracy. See the signs? You cannot wait for that time. You must act now. Allah guides the sincere.

You will watch the destruction of Majid-ul-Aqsa in the same way you are watching the destruction of Gaza, its people, its hospitals, its schools and universities. Say it isn’t so.

Your reality is the Test

Al Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza, the largest hospital in Palestine, is now out of service after the Israeli army destroyed almost all its buildings and killed or arrested most of its medical personnel.

You cannot abrogate responsibility.

Will Allah save Aqsa?

Every Friday, for a Muslim, is good Friday, because Friday is the best day of the week.  As for other connotations, then that is not from Islam and we say to those people who believe in this “to you your religion and to us, ours” and we leave them be. We continue to worship Allah, who neither begets, nor is begotten, and we worship Him in the manner that He legislated.

The talk of the red heifer is almost reaching a crescendo. However, that ritual in and of itself, has no meaning and no basis in Islam. What may concern us rather is what happens after the sacrifice of the unblemished red heifer. While the general understanding from Quran is that the Jews will enter Masjid-ul-Aqsa again, the question of its destruction is not necessarily implied by it. They will cause destruction as they have already done in Gaza. But will this destruction eventually include Al-Aqsa? The rulers in the Muslim world are “steadfast in their condemnation” of the brutality meted out to the Palestinians. As for action, that is not forthcoming. The masses are told to be patient and obey their rulers. Should the scenario become reality in the short-term where Aqsa is stormed by the Jews, who will defend Aqsa. Is it that perhaps Allah will save Aqsa, the first Qiblah of the Muslims, like He saved the Ka’bah from Abrahah* and the elephants? There is a tendency for people to interpret Quran to suit their argument. The same applies to weak hadith and sometimes even fabricated hadith. You will need to avoid this and avoid sensationalism. Of course, if you do this for acts of worship, then you will have deviated from the straight path. Some people are genuinely researching current affairs and will come across information which may lack credibility. These should be discarded, and you must be patient until information reaches you from a worthy source. Indeed, leadership and guidance are lacking. The least you should do is to incline yourself, your family and general lifestyle to that which please Allah. You cannot be concerned about a possible world war or just the dire situation in Palestine and not seek ways to draw closer to Allah. It is easy to march, but more difficult to boycott businesses and products while reforming yourself is far from easy. But what outcome do you want in all of this? And is paradise not your goal? You have been more than tapped on the shoulder as a reminder.

The matters in Palestine must be of concern. These are difficult times. The red heifer is big news. The intended actions thereafter will impact Muslims and possibly the world. What are we to do then?

Bold Question

Sometimes you have to ask the bold question like “have you thought of how and when you are going to die?” Pretty morbid, right?

The story of the red heifer remains important as the expectant Jews and some Christians prepare for the imminent slaughter and sacrifice of the unblemished red heifer, a female cow. This event will signal that the third temple must be built on the site of Masjid-ul-Aqsa. Thus, it is expected that the Jews will storm Al-Aqsa in numbers to destroy it once the sacrifice has been concluded and the ashes strewn over the entire Aqsa precinct. For the Christians, they are looking forward to the return of Yeshu* (peace be upon him). Muslims expect Eesa (peace upon him too) but we do not have to do any ritual for that to happen. It is in Allah’s hands to decide. How we pray that the time is not yet here and that they find a white hair or two on the red heifer which will make it blemished and not suitable for sacrifice. Why might you want that to happen when the appearance of the Antichrist and the coming of Yeshu (peace be upon him) is inevitable. For starters, it will mean that evil is so widespread while there are only a few true believers. It means that we have not done enough to stem the flow of evil and consequently the world is fertile for the shenanigans of the Antichrist (ad-dajjal). The importance of Prophet Yeshu’s (peace be upon him) coming is because he is obligated with the responsibility to kill the antichrist. People have generally not been connecting the dots, but the minions of the antichrist really do have the world in its grasp. It is never too late to change things since a believer never despairs but continues to command with good and forbid the evil.  A believer knows that matters of the unseen is only in the domain of Allah. This includes, of course, when the world will end, and we don’t know this. It is our duty to proclaim and spread the truth until our last breath. The sad reality is that you don’t hear these matters being discussed from our pulpits. While some may wish to argue against such a need, then understand in the current situation in Palestine it makes every sense why these matters must be unpacked. Prophet Muhammad taught his companions, over 1400 years ago, how to seek protection against dajjal. How is it then possible that people are not reminded about it from the pulpit?

The starting point for Islam was Tauheed, Belief in the Oneness of Allah. Coupled to that belief is the necessary disbelief in taghut (that which calls to worship other than the worship of Allah). It is in your firmness on this that will increase your eemaan (faith) which, accompanied with the correct good action, will gain you the satisfaction of Allah. And perhaps with our firm intentions, our repentance, and prayers, that Allah will bring clear victory soon.

Note: it is important to familiarise yourself with Al-Aqsa compound

Are you reading from the wrong script?

Reading from the wrong script invariably means that you will get your lines wrong. You will miss the point, and in an examination, your will lose marks. Leaders ought to get it right more often than wrong. Sadly, real leaders, guides and teachers are few and far between.

Reading from the wrong script means you will get your lines wrong. The system under which the world, in general, lives have shaped your thoughts and ideas through many avenues including the education and political systems. It is just over a century since the demise of the last caliphate, viz. the Ottoman caliphate. That it was allowed to fall, with help from the inside, and never yet been restored, tells a story. A painful story. While everyone is worried about the elections in various countries, including USA, the truth is that the outcome is the same. The outcome is the same no matter who wins because the elected officials are not beholden to the people, but to their masters who remain “anonymous”. Ultimately, everyone is answerable to Allah and your misdeeds will not go unnoticed, and neither will the misdeeds of each and everyone. Thus, they plan, but Allah too plans, and Allah is the best of planners. However, what He, Allah, has revealed as guidance is the true script and you will be fluffing your lines if you read from the wrong script. In previous blogs (see list below), the red heifers were mentioned. The time for their sacrifice draws every closer, it may be a matter of weeks. The Jews have their plans. Their expected result is to slaughter the heifer and then proceed to build the third temple on the site of Masjid-ul-Aqsa. The building of the temple is important for the appearance of their Messiah, Ad-dajjal, the Anti-Christ. Muslims and Christians await the return of Masih-ibn-Maryam, ‘Eesa, Yeshu (or in the apparent Romanised name “Jesus”). The Muslims expect the appearance of Al-Mahdi before the return of Yeshu (peace be upon him). Wait, lets get back to Al-Aqsa and the third temple. The world, including the Arabs and Muslims in general, except a few, have been spectators to the G.e-n-o-c- I – d – e  in the occupied territory. The question that may arise very soon, if it is not already in the minds of Muslims, their monarchs and presidents, is what will be the Muslim reaction if anyone dares to destroy Masjid-al-Aqsa.

Those who wish to learn and do the right thing should learn from the right script (Quran and hadith) and abandon their reliance on their “western” education and script. Only a few will hold onto the truth. Others will be “picky and choosy” or totally abandon the truth and fluff their lines. Learn, ask questions and discuss, only for the sake of Allah.

Iftar at the third haram

How many are aware of the demise of the Caliphate on 03 March 1924 corresponding to 27 Rajab 1342 of the Hijri calendar? And just like the youth do not relate to apartheid, there are life-changing events that are forgotten. Will the Palestinian people be forgotten as it seems that, at this rate, they are getting wiped out?

Just as people debate the importance of the Caliphate, so too there are “debates” about the “need” and the “how” to support the Palestinians. Of course, imagine Jerusalem without Palestinians. Will that be the end of Masjid-al-Aqsa? An example of how we have strayed, i.e. how we have lost our connection to what is important, is the matter of “Ramadan Expo’s”. I thought it was a place where the basics and importance of Ramadan are covered. Rather, it is but a market. By all means have your market, but why associate it to Ramadan since it has nothing to do with Ramadan. We have trivialised some matters and forgotten others. Will you remember the starving Palestinians when you break your fast? Do you understand that the fall of the Caliphate gave rise to monarchs and presidents of “countries” whose role is to justify the division of the ummah, based on nationality. It created a vacuum in which Muslims have no leader. It seemingly removed the duty to defend Muslims. And further to the geographical divide after Muslims rebelled against the Ottoman empire and sided with the British and French so that they can get their fiefdom, the enemies of Islam did not stop there. Muslims are not bound by geographical boundaries, so the enemies of Islam infiltrated further, in many guises, and sought to corrupt the religion of Islam. This is a heavy subject of which we cannot cover the details in a short space of time except to warn against it. The pointing of fingers at Arab leaders has its merits, but self-reflection is important. Your belief must not be corrupted. Things that you may find trivial, may well be far more important than you think. And yet, belief is corrupted. Ramadan is such a month that you must reflect, repent and attain Allah-consciousness. The latter is the goal. Allah is Lord and deifying anyone by giving them attributes that belong only to Allah, is a grave sin. Keep matters simple and worship Allah alone. Reflect on the issues affecting the ummah and the world at large. Remember those suffering and assist to alleviate their plight, especially the Palestinians. Return to the pristine teachings of Prophet Muhammad upon whom was revealed Quran in the month of Ramadan, and who taught us also through his sunnah.   Avoid innovation for it distorts the teaching of Rasoolullah .

Let us, through our sincere actions, be the reason Allah not only saves the Palestinians, but grants us ease from calamity and grants peace. Let us have iftar (break fast) in Jerusalem.

Slaughter

The red heifer story and event is rather important in the context of the Palestinian issue.

The phrase “from the river to the sea” is actually a Zionist phrase meaning from the Euphrates to the Mediterranean Sea. Their aspiration to have “Bilad-e-sham” which includes Jordan, Syria and part of Iraq. Some include Madinah in this territory. It is quite an extensive area. The start of it all is Masjid-al-Aqsa. To this end, the Jews must slaughter an unblemished red heifer, in a place close to where Yeshu, Eesa, Jesus – peace be upon him – was “crucified” (of course, Quran clarifies that he was not crucified). Once this is done, they can proceed to build the third temple on the site of Aqsa, meaning Aqsa must be destroyed. This will also signal the advent of their messiah, the Antichrist, Ad-Dajjaal. After 75 years of occupation, and even suffering loss of life, property and belongings in the immediate period before 1948, the Palestinians know that the destruction of Masjid-al-Aqsa will be virtually a death blow to them and Muslims in general. The result, Al-Aqsa flood. You now know how berserk the Israelis became, butchering over 30 000 Palestinians including over 12000 children. As the saying goes “silence is consent” which means the silence from the Muslim Arab leaders, except for some feint weak call for ceasefire”, is deafening. Surely these “leaders” must take some responsibility for the latest events in the killing and maiming of starving Palestinians when these people tried to access aid dropped from aircraft. At the end of it all, we know that Allah is all-aware and all-knowledgeable of what is happening. To this extent, you and I too will be judged for our sincerity. How much are we doing? Do we expect Allah to assist because we pray for assistance while we feast and party, even as Ramadan is approaching? Do we expect Allah to assist because we pray while we flout His laws otherwise without blinking?  Do we expect Allah to assist while we wallow in a system designed by the very people carrying out genocide? Allah will help the Palestinians, if for nothing else but that they have shown courage patience and perseverance. Yet will we get our share of reward from it? Are we deserved of it?

While you look outside of Islam for answers, assistance and praise the self-immolation of an American airman, your sincerity is tested. Only Allah can assist and to Him we submit. How many nations were destroyed by a mere word from Him. The red heifer is about to be slaughtered with its enormous consequences.
