The line in the sand - Part 5

Integration follows Allah’s warning in Quran that the Jews and Christians will never be satisfied with you, the Muslim, unless you follow their way of life. You pray, you fast, you give charity, you perform pilgrimage, so surely you cannot follow their way?

This is how they see it anyway and they surely want you to give up on your beliefs. However, Islam, being a complete way of life and that the role of the Muslim, as one who submits to Allah, is to establish the good and forbid the evil. That is a huge analysis on its own and a course that, if not yet designed, then must be presented to all of us. Earlier, we mentioned dress-code which should also include the term tabarruj. Many people who will claim to be hijabi’s are, in fact, not hijabi’s because they do not fulfil the criteria. Yet they still remain the target of non-Muslims and specifically, Islamophobes. Are the males in the clear concerning their dress-code? Hint: have you seen a male bowing or prostrating in prayer while their back (the awrah) is exposed? This is but an example. Are these examples an indication that, in some way, Muslims are sinful in these aspects and incline to practices conflicting with Allah’s laws? Does not the honey that satan has placed before you, then grow tentacles? How much more do Muslims imitate non-Muslims, and then look for loopholes to do so? Music? Besides listening to it, attending concerts, promoting it, being well versed in the lyrics while, by their actions, taking Quran for a joke.

Marriage: the path to it, the preparation for it and understanding the rights of husband and wife. Do you not find, very often, that people quote non-Muslims on the rights of the spouses while what is quoted is contrary to Islam? Have we crossed that line in the sand? The list of transgressions is ever growing. Of the biggest problems that beset us, is pride. What are the reasons for this? On the one hand, we can and must question this, but, on the other hand, it is not necessary to wait to find all the answers and then get into a state of analysis paralysis. Rather, the simple answer is that a simple question must be asked: “Am I Muslim?”. From this will spring forth other simple questions and answers. Islam is easy. What does it entail to be a Muslim? What is the purpose of life (on earth)? From where do I take my knowledge? And a few more questions like that. Those with pride will justify clinging to every deviating path, at the head of which is a satan. Those who humble themselves before Allah, will strive to follow our illustrious leader, teacher and guide, sent by Allah Almighty. We make no apologies for being Muslim and holding firmly onto the rope of Allah and being a follower of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

Reflect and connect with true guidance. Unlearn and relearn. Imbibe the knowledge that will grant success, in this world and beyond. Be constantly aware of that line in the sand that you stay on the path of guidance. Ditch pride to the extent that people might mock you for not being fashionable, for not being with it or even for not being traditional. Act only for Allah’s sake and always call to His guidance in the best manner possible.

Your reality is the Test

Al Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza, the largest hospital in Palestine, is now out of service after the Israeli army destroyed almost all its buildings and killed or arrested most of its medical personnel.

Sometimes I wonder what our situation would have been like had we lived in the time of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ or even Yeshu or Moshe (peace be upon them both). Today, many have the full truth of their, the Prophets’, teaching but opt to dilute it or reject it outright. There is a need to understand the reality in the sight of Allah versus the deception of this world while the latter is painted and presented as reality.

You have been sucked in by the system. Consequently, you struggle to join the dots, if you are even trying at all. You are looking for solutions through and within the system while the reality is that which is in the Deen (religion) of Allah, Islam. This modern-day system has been long in the making from the time Satan became the accursed. Over time, he had many minions and today it seems likely that the world is ready for self-destruction. A genocide is taking place and, like the viewing of a movie or a sports event with worldwide audiences, there is no concrete reaction to it. The organs and institutions set up for world peace and the protection of people was set up by the very same people who created a new country with new people in a land where people have always lived and was living at that time. A country was formed on the displacement of a people. That not being enough, a genocide is taking place before our very eyes. Have you exerted enough of yourself to say that you are fully supportive of the people of Palestine? Unless you start to think differently from the indoctrination (that so-called education) from your schooling, your exposure to movies and television, even reading of books, to the politics (including the political system), to the laws governing us, to the economic system, and much more, then you are still using their system to find solutions to play a meaningful role. Even religion has been changed that few know the pristine religion of Islam while they defend every innovation into the religion and spend little time to emulate Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his companions (Allah be pleased with them).

You cannot abrogate responsibility. You cannot find ultimate solutions within the system. The democratic system will seemingly give you wins in some areas but, overall, it carries more harm than good, if any good really. There are people dying. The world is in chaos. Muslims ought to command with good and forbid evil and it requires action. Allah will not change the condition of a people unless and until they change themselves. A caliphate awaits and it will not be based on democracy. See the signs? You cannot wait for that time. You must act now. Allah guides the sincere.

You will watch the destruction of Majid-ul-Aqsa in the same way you are watching the destruction of Gaza, its people, its hospitals, its schools and universities. Say it isn’t so.

Important dates on the calendar

How focused are you? Have you been a little distracted?

Painting the town red on Valentine’s Day. That is how it works, isn't it? These types of days are, at best, distractions from what really matters and how you should really live your life. In reality, it is such a lie that you should feel disgust at it. Of course, there are things like Mother’s Day and Father's Day, and many others. Introducing these matters, commercialised at that, is part of a system that takes you away from the truth. The truth can only be called the truth when it is pure and untainted. Islam is a complete way of life. When you make things important in your life, which is not from the religion of Islam, then you have fallen into the trap. There are things which you may find important but are permissible and therefore not a problem. However, the trap is far and wide, and few can claim to be free from it. How do you counter the influence of the Zionists and the minions of the antichrist when you, almost willingly, if not totally willingly, fall into their trap. The system of Islam is clear, and it is a way of life which Muslims must enter into completely. The more you engage in those matters which are foreign to Islam and which aim is to corrupt you, the weaker you become in fighting the enemy of Allah.

To those who wish to change Valentine’s Day to Palestine Day, have lost the plot. You cannot change a wrong by redressing it in the hope that it becomes something good. The truth must be untainted by wrong and sinful speech and actions. Such attempts to redress falsehood as truth must be rejected outright. As for the red heifer, according to the Jews, it is a sign of the coming of the Antichrist. Thus, it is important to clearly be in the right camp when the antichrist does appear. Will he appear soon? Allah knows best. What you and I should do, is make sure that we and our families are firmly rooted on the truth and that this will continue for generations to come. What an awesome legacy to leave.

The belief in Allah is incomplete without the disbelief in falsehood.

Red Heifer

The story of the red heifers is real interesting and rather important. Do you know what this is all about?

Before we get to talk more about that, you need to understand that they have you fairly much where they want you. You are likely enslaved to their system. Of the greatest sins is partaking in Riba (usury/interest) and hardly anyone can claim to not, at least, have the dust of Riba on them. So, if you are not committing shirk (making partnership with Allah), then probably the biggest sin you are engaged in right now is dealing in riba. The system spares no one. You are beholden to the system from medical practices to schooling to banking and finance and then, of course, entertainment. We will go down this road where you hide behind ulama (religious scholars) for certain rulings and claiming ignorance where no ruling suits you. It is pretty much clear that music is forbidden. Let’s do it the long way and not go into the detail now so that you can actually do some research, proper research. Don’t blame the older folk or hide behind those who passed on. The only way to hide behind them is to get in their graves which is surely not going to happen while you are alive. Pray for them rather and, you too, repent. But the easy part of this is to point out those matters which are clearly forbidden. Those matters that appear good and in order, is where the real deceit lies.

This next line or two may need much more explanation but not right now. You and I were created by the most Perfect Creator, Allah. He left nothing out. Of course, He sent children as a blessing and a test (no, no, nor long discussion on this now). In the golden era of Islam, did any of these great Muslim scientists even suggest a baby must get jabbed at birth and then a million times more in the next few years of his life? Why then do we tamper with the creation of Allah when there is no apparent deficiency or ailment in the child? If you only but knew how absolutely amazing your immune system is until you messed with it. We can go on but for censorship. But you get the gist. Then there is the schooling system which is not healthy either. The system itself is detrimental but, more so, the curricula are deteriorating while you cannot be certain that what the children are being taught is factual.

You heard of the age of deception. There are two immediate parts to which you may want to pay special attention. There is a lot more, but two for now. Firstly, look at history, in some detail, over the last 100 to 150 years and then, secondly, learn more about the antichrist and end times. This is in no way a suggestion that we are right at the end, but we do ackowledge deception is ever on the rise. And then there’s the red heifers.

More on that in the next few posts.

Interfaith Part 2 : Integration

Ask your Imam, ask your Mowlana, ask your Sheikh! They have studied the religion and should be in a position to guide us. Yet, we understand that they are not infallible and may make mistakes. I will try not to directly quote Hadith and/or Quran because the idea is for us to research aspects of our deen and get authentic guidance from our learned people.

A learned person, a Muslim who goes and partakes in a prayer meeting with people from other faiths, in, let's say a church, will send confusing signals to the layman. Is it permissible to pray with them and the argument will start with "tolerance" and "my sheikh said.." and "we must respect ...". And yet no one spoke any word of ill or malice towards anyone from the other faith.  But the new buzzword is integration and as Muslims we need to integrate and therefore interfaith is a powerful means for doing so.

I scratch my head and look around but few are willing to say anything. Perhaps, they will say something in the privacy of their homes or, when they do speak more "publicly", they don't draw a line in the sand as did our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ . Did he not draw a line in the sand? But where did we go wrong? A long story but here are just a few thoughts of how thoughtless we are in the seeds we plant. Easter has everything to do with paganism and there is a fair impact of this on Christianity. Christians largely believe that Jesus died for their sins on the cross. This happening is alleged to have taken place on Good Friday which, coincidently, falls in line with the Easter weekend which is synonymous with paganism. And, aaahhh, the easter eggs which are now made with chocolate. Lovely isn't it.  Except that, while the chocolate is halal (permissible), the now Easter-egg-formed chocolate is nothing but a dedication to a pagan god. We find it delicious while we consume nothing but that which at least taints our bodies and our very souls - do we go to buy meat and ask for halal meat or do we eat any meat. The sheep, while it was alive was halaal for us as potential meat until it was slaughtered and dedicated to other than Allah. Likewise, the chocolate was halaal until it was dedicated to a pagan god. And yet, you disagree, and you are inclined to stop reading and you say "it is only chocolate we eat...".

And as you carry on, you now attend their Christmas services in Church, you attend their Christmas meals, and you give Christmas gifts. All in the name of tolerance and shirk. "Well it is our Prophet too", I hear you say. Of the many questions that arise is "are they celebrating the birth of God or the son of God" - Is this not shirk? "Yes, but we don't do that" is the retort. The crazy thought that we love for others what we love for ourselves and then you tell them that you support them in going on their way to the place where people who commit shirk go. Of course, Muslims do believe in the Hereafter and in Heaven and Hell - right? So, you nudge them along to hell instead of leading them to the straight path. Interesting that people of tolerance and integration can do that. But some are just so confused and allow the non-Muslim to take your hand and drag you along all the while thinking that you still pray and fast then you are all good. And then there are also other religions like Hinduism, African Traditional religions, etc.

We are human and we are prone to error. The good news is that our Creator, Allah, sent to us a messenger who was the last of all prophets and who brought us Quran and his sunnah ﷺ. The best of teachers is none but Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Research, ask questions and be concerned with your standing in front of Allah on the Day of Reckoning. Seek the truth and live as a Muslim, inviting to good and forbidding evil.

To them their religion (to practice) and to us ours.

We pray for leaders who will guide us - seek them out and speak not of your own desire.

And Allah knows best.

Keeping the Faith at Interfaith - part 1

A way to avoid divorce is to understand what divorce entails, actions that may lead to divorce and seek to find a path, by the Mercy of Allah, to distance oneself from it as far as possible.

A way to avoid the fire is to know how to avoid the fire, i.e. the actions that may lead one to the fire of hell. It is not enough to know and do the actions that will be a means to receive the Marcy of Allah and hence entry to paradise but it is also important to know the one action and/or one statement can change all that.

A way to avoid shirk is to understand what shirk is and what actions are considered shirk. In a diverse community where one is inclined to be in contact with people of other faiths and atheists, it is important to understand the practices of these people. Every action that they do and every utterance (with religious connotation) should be scrutinised, from an Islamic perspective, before we even consider engaging in the same.

The views of inclusivity do not mean "make the circle bigger" but rather to remove those parts that don't fit into the smaller circle, e.g. in our homes we cannot be inclusive by inviting people who will consume alcohol in our homes or perhaps other prohibited foods. Thus, we will invite them, but it will be on the terms of our deen, which is our way of life. And likewise, we can expand the principle to other matters including commonality with other religions. It is true that the closest religion to Islam is in fact Judaism since Jews are considered monotheists unlike Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc. Thus, if it is true that we have interfaith dialogue on common issues such as morals, then there are atheists who may share similar morals, perhaps sun-worshippers, etc. In this way the dialogue will be interfaith and beyond.

At these gatherings, we all say a prayer. The Muslim, no doubt, praising Allah and sending salutations on our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Do the others respond with "amen" - but if we were inclusive then the atheist won't respondk and neither will he/she offer a prayer. How we then do we respond when the other faiths pray to their Gods. If everyone says "amen", all well and good, but who gets the "amen" if the Muslim responds to the prayer of say the Bahai. If each one reserves their "amen" only for their own prayer, well then, the trust is already broken and why have a prayer at all.
So, one of the objectives of the Cape Interfaith Initiative is " To promote interfaith activities including prayer and meditation, faith sharing" - Is this communal praying across religions? What would we benefit from doing this? Is this the means to da'wah while it was not Prophet Muhammad's ﷺ example?

There is much to say on this subject - but can a non-Muslim, let's say a Christian, make dua for us when he addresses Jesus (peace be upon him). Is this inclusivity like someone bringing wine to your house and drinking it? - nay it is worse, because it is shirk (to worship and pray to Jesus - peace be upon him) - is it not?

In conclusion (to this part) - are we, through this initiative, exposing ourselves and our community, with little knowledge of our own religion, to other religions. Is this the way of the way of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
