Islamophobic Olympics

Your life is shaped by what you did yesterday and how it continues depends on what you do today. No, this is not that kind of motivational note but do read on. The world is shaped by events of before and what tomorrow holds, depends on what happens today.

The Olympics is currently being held in France, the breeding ground of the Crusaders, with one theme being Islamophobia. There is, of course, the overall attack on religion. Islamophobia is driven by whatever propaganda they can push out. One important historical point to note is that the Crusades were driven by Islamophobes. At that point in time, people in Western Europe were not really Christian but had to be because of feudalism. Their understanding of their own religion was sub-minimal.  Driven by economics and hunger for power, uncivilised Western Europe had to transform. It was therefore easy to round up thousands of men to fight. Hardly understanding their own religion, they were fed garbage about Islam to make Muslims the enemy and give them more reason to fight. Millions died because of the crusades with Crusaders killing Christians too. This is an example of Islamophobia in Europe. These same lies about Islam is still spread today and even with information available at everyone’s fingertips, Islamophobes are still created because it is part of the teaching of other religions. Atheists will criticise and oppose every religion but still are harshest against Islam, because of the ready disinformation being spread.

The Olympics is in full swing and Islamophobic France, the hosts, still have the attention of Muslims as interested viewers of the event. That you cheer Muslim participants in the event is no justification. The picture is starker than you think. How you deal with Islamophobia will determine how you practise your religion tomorrow and will determine the religion of your children. The recent past has much evidence of single acts of Islamophobia to wars against Muslims. Know your history and prepare yourself well for tomorrow by your action today.

Death is certain and if you are a believer, then Allah reminds you to be Allah-conscious and that when you meet with death, you do so while you have eemaan (faith in Allah).

 PS! effectively, genocide was celebrated.

What is with your superstition

In the seventeenth century, the Dutch colonised what is now known as Cape Town. By that time, the Europeans had found a way around the southern tip of Africa to venture to the far east, ostensibly for trade. The end result was colonisation. It was as a result of this colonisation that Muslims from the far east, starting with Indonesia, were brought to the Cape as slaves and political exiles. They found their new home in what is today still called “Bo-Kaap”.

Being persecuted, the Muslims adopted more Dutch sounding names and hid their Islam and birth names. Yet, they preserved Islam that today there is Islam in Cape Town and, indeed, in South Africa. However, a visit to the Bo-Kaap does not give you a sense of Islam except for the many mosques in the relatively small area. In every person, there is but a reflection of yourself and your shortcomings. More so, when it is your understanding of Islam and how you live it, that reflects on yourself. So, we remind ourselves and when we do it out loud, perhaps that benefit can reach the next person. When someone’s eemaan (faith) is weak, that person may consciously leave Islam and adopt another religion or give up religion completely, i.e. become an atheist. May we all be spared from that. But the greatest threat is not that obvious disbelief. Rather it is those ideas, thoughts, beliefs and actions which are contrary to Islam. Superstition is one such example of a weak or corrupt belief system. However, to understand Islam and your belief system, you will understand why you are called Muslim. This education is what you must go and learn it from those who will clearly teach you the unadulterated pristine Islam. The one thing you don’t want happening is that on the Day of Reckoning, you discover that you committed shirk (ascribing partners to Allah). Sometimes it may be an act which does not nullify your Islam but sometimes it is a more deep-rooted belief which can absolutely nullify your Islam. The starting point of your Islam is your testimony of faith that there is only one deity, Allah, to be worshipped and that Muhammad ﷺ is his messenger. In that belief is that you reject believing in any other object or being. This object of disbelief may involve superstition. This disbelief may be like some find reason, wisdom and guidance in astrology and zodiac signs. For others it is in beliefs of what happens to the dead when those beliefs are foreign to Islam. And the list goes on.

The Bo-Kaap has become merely a tourist attraction and not a beacon of da’wah (calling to Islam). Walls are painted with reminders of Gaza. Will we give up the Bo-Kaap without a fight? Our forefathers left us Islam. Many of them were illiterate but they held onto their Islam. Today, you have access to so much knowledge. Let’s access that knowledge and let’s be Muslim and make Bo-Kaap (and Cape Town as a whole) the vibrant Muslim community we ought to be.

Real Entertainment

It’s raining bombs. It is true literally and, globally, figuratively. Bombs kill. Some instantaneously and some die a slow death. Worse still, if you are captured by the deception and become the walking dead.

Movies and entertainment have become real. You hear the phrase “like it is out of a movie” more and more. An example is what you make of the Trump ordeal. It is all real, isn’t it? Just like the torrents of rain that Cape Town is experiencing. I hear it being attributed to global warming. If you hear a lie often enough, you might believe it. Trust Allah and believe in His guidance unconditionally and wholeheartedly. Just something to be reminded of is that as part of the belief in Allah, is to disbelieve is falsehood and false deities. Analysing global issues further, Keir Starmer became new UK Prime minister. He is allegedly an atheist and is married to Victoria Alexander, a Jew. In South Africa, real state capture is coming to fruition and still people talk about democracy, as if it is real. By the time your child has been through thirteen years (or more) of schooling, they will have had more indoctrination pumped through their veins that their basic Islamic education. Which way will they lean? Allah protect us all. Before you get carried away with thinking this is all about conspiracy theories, you need to go back to the basics. Firstly, you have placed education in the hands of those who are opposed to Allah’s law. You went through the mild form, yet sufficiently intoxicating, of their education system. The time for indoctrination on steroids is here. Secondly, many have faith in what is presented to them by transgressors or is “scoundrels” a better word. Little attention is paid to Allah’s laws and when it is, it is more often seen from a “western” angle. This life of deception is reaching a crescendo. You talk about matters as if it is normal and real. It is only real because you accept it and believe it. Accusations is aimed at the Arab world, in particular, for their lack of concrete steps to end the genocide, and rightly so. But have you done enough, if anything? Have you learnt anything from the Palestinians? How do you support Palestine but believe and partake in the fear-mongering scamdemics perpetrated by the same people who fund and commit genocide? Do you think they only kill by bombing? Then too in your beliefs, do you really think Karbala is the reason for Youm-us-Shura? Ignorance may be a defence at times, but when you are called to learn, reflect, think, ponder, do you not turn away? When it is said Allah and His Rasool (Muhammad ﷺ) says, do you not retort with “but …”.

At this juncture, it is better to remain silent than to spread the lies and deception that you have been taught or gathered from mainstream media and the scoundrels that they represent and parade.

In death, there is life

In death, there is life. Sometimes it takes a while to extract all the benefits of a statement, however small the statement may be.

Recently, I dreamt of an acquaintance of mine accepting Islam. I don’t know the reason why she accepted Islam – albeit a dream. Yet the ongoing genocide in Gaza has been the reason why many thousands of people, all over the world, have accepted Islam in recent months. Islam is a simple, yet comprehensive religion. At the core of the religion is faith. It is the religion and the faith practised and taught by all the prophets from Adam to Abraham to Moses to Jesus to Muhammad (peace be upon them all). The credo that there is only One God, Allah. This is what the people of Gaza die upon. This is upon which they withstand the occupiers. Right now, Islam is spreading like wildfire throughout Europe, as an example. Muslims have no need to lie about the beliefs of others, because these people will confess to what is said about them and their beliefs. The same cannot be said of those who feel threatened by Islam and Muslims, making up lies about Islam and Muslims. And those who feel threatened by Muslims, for the most part, are ignorant of Islam and have fallen prey to the lies spewed by some non-Muslims. This is not the forum to be absolutely specific about the lies being spread, but you are welcome to arrange a forum for us to discuss further.

While many people are flocking to Islam, Muslims born into Islam need to reflect at the character of the people of Gaza and the many thousands that have recently entered into Islam. Islam starts with belief, and it is upon which you and I, as Muslims, should die. You and I have not yet been tested with our belief, yet for many that belief is already wavering. Consider whether those entering Islam in their hordes are replacing some of us or whether we will be blessed with a good ending, i.e. that we die in complete faith, upholding Quran and Sunnah, that our faith is never in question, by the Grace and Mercy of Allah, neither did we distort the religion in any way. In death there is life, for an eternal life of bliss is awaiting the believer in paradise and martyrdom deserves nothing else but paradise.

See this example

The greatest gift that a person can receive is the gift of faith (eemaan). And by faith it is meant “the belief in Allah and that Muhammad ﷺ is the final messenger (and Prophet) of Allah”. It also means to disbelieve any object, person or deity as being worthy of worship. Of the greatest exemplaries of true faith is none other than Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) – peace be upon him. It is he who was instructed to call people to the hajj (pilgrimage) and Muslims still carry out this ritual to this day.

This is an example of what confirms Islam as the true religion. Muslims are far from perfect and, in their non-adherence to the pristine teachings of Islam, are not always good examples of Islam. However, what is true is that faith is about your belief in Allah and, in striving to overcome your shortcomings, have hope in the Mercy of Allah. A single man, Abraham – peace be upon him – called people to the pilgrimage and every year, about three million Muslims, from all over the world, descend on Makkah to perform the pilgrimage while two billion Muslims look on and, for most, have the desire to also perform the pilgrimage soon. This is reason enough to be grateful, but time and space can never do justice to list everything for which you should be grateful. Christians and Jews too accept Ibrahim – peace be upon him – but it is Muslims who follow him for he was neither a Jew nor a Christian but was one who submitted to Allah, i.e. one who submits to Allah is a Muslim. How then can any Muslim be anti-semitic when we are so strongly attached to Prophet Ibrahim – peace be upon him – that his way is our way. The pilgrimage is at the same time of the sacrifice of the ram in the place of Ismail. All this is an indication of how grateful we should be to be Muslim. The Palestinians have demonstrated their faith, living it and we are all witness to it. While we may not want to be in such a situation, imagine the level of their faith versus ours. But our tests are coming. South Africans have been deceived in believing good will come from the case before the ICJ. The case is likely to have challenges and perhaps fall flat as there is regime change in South Africa. It is not always possible to see every deception or to see the link between two points of deception. But it is easier when standing for the truth, you will be separated from those who believe in being colourful with the truth in their deceptive manner.

If truth be told, then the sacrifice of animals, mostly sheep, carries a profound lesson. For you to stand with truth, you have to slaughter the sheeple in you, i.e. the blind following and acceptance of government, political leaders, and people of dubious character. The same people that brought you the genocide, likely has a hand in every country in the world, include South Africa. The same people bring you scams and makes you believe that they have your best interest at heart. Don’t worry about conspiracy theories, concern yourself about the truth. The truth will reveal the conspiracies. And Prophet Ibrahim – peace be upon him – is such a great example.

Headlines

History becomes stories, the details of which are lost to most. Can you focus on the outcome only, as fact, when headlines are written, often out of sync with the detail? Is it true that it should not concern everyone but those who are scholars and seekers of knowledge?

You can speak October 07th as fact while the weighty detail behind it is ignored. You look at the masses, the general populace, and it is not uncommon for them to be ignorant (or deficient in knowledge or even information) on most matters. It is then up to the scholars and the learned to step up and fill the void by educating as is necessary. Truth, though, is key. Throughout history you will see many capitulating before the ruler of the day, except a few. Gold, money and wealth were always generously distributed so that silence on truth was bought, betrayal became the norm, and even advocating misguidance found its place in the sun. Today, the one thing that keeps Muslims together is the kalimat-ush-shahadah (the testimony of faith). Sadly, the cry of the babies, the screams of a woman being violated, and a people starved, go unanswered by those who rule over us. It is better to pray for your rulers (in Muslim lands) to be guided than to pray against them for what may follow may be worse. A good ruler will care for his people and there will be peace and security. Throughout Islamic history there were attempts to break the Muslims through ending the khilafah (caliphate)and bringing innovations and misguidance into the religion. Eventually the khilafah came to an end just over one hundred years ago because of betrayal. This word, betrayal, is like a headline and the detail need to be understood for proper context. As for innovations and misguidance, then that happened over the centuries, even at the time of the earlier generations of Muslims. The attempt to weaken the ummah (the followers of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) is a never-ending story but, ultimately, there will always be a group of people holding onto the truth. The people of Palestine are shining examples of a people resisting oppression and dying as martyrs. As for us, Allah advises us in Quran that we have to change ourselves before Allah changes our conditions. And what must we change?

Muslims have become people of mere speech while, if there is speech to which you should be attached, then it is Quran and Sunnah. There is no better speech than the speech of Allah and the and the best of the guidance is the guidance given by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Is it then possible for Muslims to find themselves in a wilderness while they have Quran and Sunnah? There has been much propaganda and misinformation regarding October 7th and yet there is so much that came before it. (You may also want to read

 https://capemuslimspeak.blogspot.com/2024/02/wars-and-scores.html).

As for your understanding of Islam and your approach to life, then again you have to go back to the beginning and not focus only on what the headlines are today.

The world is on the brink of massive change. Will it be good, or will it be bad? Good will only come with Islam. It will come, with or without you. The bad will come from those who have no God that they worship except evil itself. The choice you will make, consciously or otherwise, will determine whether you stand on the side of truth or not. Enough is it for you to blame the Arab leaders (and they are not blameless), but what is your contribution? Your silence is deafening. Your ignorance lamentable. Your complicity is notable.

You got played

It is true that you must focus on what is apparent. Sometimes though, “apparent” is how closely you look, e.g. females have a trait that they can remember what you wore months, if not years, ago, on a certain day, etc. And they are usually right. And sometimes what is not apparent through one sense, like the eyes, will be apparent through another sense like the nose from where you get the saying “I smell a rat”.

Muslims are guided by Quran and Sunnah and the answers are all there. Because I am not a scholar, I will leave it just there. In any case, what is making the news. In South Africa, elections were deemed “free and fair” while twenty pollical parties are contesting the results. I guess that gives a new meaning to “free and fair”. Assuming the results are accepted, then it certainly makes for interesting reading. Nothing happens by chance. About a year ago, analysts had the ANC dropping to below the 50% mark and tending nearer 40% which is more or less where they ended. At that point when the analysis was first made, the MK party was not yet a player. Did the ANC create the MK party or did they indirectly, through their targeting of a certain Jacob Zuma, create the MK party? The formation of the MK party had the desired impact on the results, dropping the ANC around 40%. This brought the DA into play as a possible coalition partner. The ANC forming an alliance with MK will be ironic since the MK is a spin off of the ANC. And likewise is the EFF. Did Cyril Ramaphosa play the game and open the door for the DA to get into government? Was this always the plan? At what point was the voters played. I know the voters are always played, but this one is quite big. The Palestinian issue was a burning issue in the election, at least in the Western Cape. The ANC has now said “country first”. Does this mean that they are willing to form a coalition with the DA who opposed South Africa taking the genocide of the Palestinians to the ICJ? Then either way, your vote may have been stolen.

And while you are trying to get to grips of how you were duped, try on a mask and social distance for effect. Anthony Fauci has let the cat out of the bag claiming that he has no idea how he came up with social distancing and masking since there is no scientific evidence for it. You got played and you got upset with people who wanted to live normal lives and not follow pseudo-science. Muslims prayers were impacted as they were not allowed to pray normally. You listened to someone who spread false news while the truth was censored and “fact-checked”. Will you have a different outlook going forward? The jab is another matter that needs to be unpacked. But already you are nervous about the truth. Yeah, the truth does that. It makes people uncomfortable, so let’s leave the jab until you are ready or Anthony Fauci tells us some important “hidden” truths about it.

The truth is apparent but how can you see it if you are hiding from it. However, the stench of their rats is so bad that you should be able to smell it, even with your mask. The truth shall set you free.
